Brian Kim
Brian has over 15 years of principal investing experience, most recently as a partner with NewSpring Capital where he led investments in high growth, tech-enabled services and software companies. Prior to NewSpring, Brian was a private equity investor with Gryphon Investors and LLR Partners and began his career as a strategy consultant with First Manhattan Consulting Group.

Throughout his career, Brian has partnered with founder-led and family-owned businesses in a broad array of industries, including business services, consumer services, industrials & manufacturing, and software & technology.

Brian holds a B.S.E in Systems Science & Engineering and B.A. in Economics from The University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from The Wharton School. He currently serves as Chair of the Board of Trustees of The Nationalities Service Center, a Philadelphia-based immigrant and refugee resettlement agency which serves over 5,000 clients annually.
Brian and his wife live in the Philadelphia area with their two daughters.


James Maxfield
James has over 15 years of principal investing experience across business and professional services, information services, human capital management, financial services, consumer, healthcare, as well as transportation & logistics. Most recently, James was a partner with Tritium Partners where he led investments in growth-oriented, tech-enabled business, professional and information services companies. Prior to Tritium, James was a private and public equity investor with Fortress Investment Group, Mistral Equity Partners and Trian Partners, and began his career as an investment banker at Citigroup and Société Générale.

James holds B.A.s in Economics and Political Science from Trinity College (CT) and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. While in college, James was a four-year varsity letterman in rowing and completed two years of Army ROTC. James is a former nationally ranked triathlete and has completed several full Ironman triathlons as well as marathons.
James and his wife live in New York City with their two children and dog, Turkey.
